EEAS 87.504 Introduction to GIS Fall 2009
EEAS 87.504 Introduction to GIS is an interdisciplinary exploration of geographic information systems software and its applications. The syllabus emphasizes basic concepts, fundamental operations in a variety of GIS software systems, and applications to problem areas in science, engineering, and policy. Skills developed using ArcGIS, the most widely used GIS system, and other software, are used to develop a project for exploration, analysis, or presentation of spatial data in the student's field. Presentation of results becomes a final project exercise.
